Are you interested in sharing your musical talent with the student's in your child's class? Mrs. Sunday and Mrs. Nicholas are inviting you to come and share a song or two with your child's class. This is a good opportunity to show your child that music is an activity that can give you joy for a lifetime.
If you are interested in sharing your talent in your child's class and wish to schedule your performance then please contact me at MSunday@aacps.org
Remember you can play just one song or several--hope to hear
from many of you.
We have some wonderful musical events planned for our children. All students in grade 2 will be attending a performance of the Annapolis Symphony in February. Students in grade 5 will be attending a performance of the Baltimore Symphony in November. In October, all students will be participating in a residency entitled Movement and Science with artist Tim Gregory (read more). The children will experience science, movement, and music during the first week of October.
We hope to have a return of our Annapolis Symphony Arts Van for all our grade 3 students in May. Please mark your calendar so you won't miss important events.
We are happy and
honored to be able to share music with your child. We cover a wide
range of musical activities and concepts.
In grade 3, students will join grades 4 and 5 by playing soprano recorder in general music classes. Students may also choose to play a string instrument in our strings program.
In grade 4, students may begin playing a band instrument. Those instruments include woodwinds, brass and percussion. For more information on the band and strings program, please contact our band instructor, Mr. Yakaitis or Mr. Metzler, our strings instructor.
In grade 5, students participate in our choral program. Students perform a winter and spring program. There are additional optional opportunities for students to perform in our community.
Your child is involved in a
wide range of musical activities. Additionally, students attend
concerts performed by the Baltimore and Annapolis Symphonies. Select groups perform at community events,
county strings festival, choral festivals and pre game activities
for the Bowie Baysox baseball team. We hope to see you at an
upcoming concert or event!
